Anti-Corruption Awareness Seminar at Maryam University

The Joint Independent Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) organized a seminar on combating corruption at Maryam University in Kabul.
In this seminar, the monitoring and evaluation committee first explained its structure, tasks and achievements. After that, the concept of corruption, examples of corruption, methods of combating corruption in domestic law and also in international anti-corruption documents were discussed.
After that, the "Report on Assessing Vulnerabilities of Corruption of the Ministry of Education" as well as the findings of two monitoring reports on the implementation of orders and reforms in the Ministry of Education so far were presented to the participants of this seminar. The seminar ended with questions and answers, and a detailed discussion on the fight against corruption, anti-corruption strategies and international experiences in the fight against corruption.
At the end of the seminar, the board of Maryam University asked the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee to hold the same program to raise awareness in another branch of the university in Kabul.
Anti-corruption studies show that awareness is one of the most appropriate and effective ways to combat corruption in countries. By educating and informing, people are aware of their rights and responsibilities and resist corruption.
